Doug Fox has the news on his site. Dance Europe, in a fit of pique, has decided to take down all the dance company listings from their site rather than add the Israeli dance companies to the listings. Whereas Doug classifies it as backing down, I’d classify it as childish.
Third in the series.

I will be interested to see if it has the unintended consequence of pissing off people who had not even gotten involved with the Israel debate. This latest move underscores a glaringly flawed ability on the magazine’s part to create constructive policy.

I wonder why the publisher then stil advertises American companies, because America sold not only guns to many arab countries but also to Israel and let us be claer, that America occuppies quite a lot of territories that are not initially theirs.
Aswell as, why support some of the european dance companies, when their government still occupies territories outside their own?
They might aswell show none at all then.
I wouldn’t support faschist companies (do faschists actually have dance companies?) or companies that have aggressive opinions towards others, but I believe that in dance we are pretty much the same -dance is a language and dancer’s all around the globe speak it and shouldn’t be shut up by anyone as long as their intent is peaceful.
